I'm lvl 16 and just got to the mainland last night. Just curios how much farther before I start finding decent stuff?

First thing: Get a lot of easy mainland quests out of the way or do any quests left over in noobieland. You wanna be AT LEAST 18 by the time you're on mainland, unless you're an MM.

That said, "good" loot seems to start dropping once you complete the first mainland mission and start getting into the Undercity.

Good loot is random, but high level mobs will be the ones that drop the max damage and stat items.

That said, I've gone all the way through the undercity and have yet to see a single gold drop for me. I've had plenty of purple drops, but so far this monkey gets no bananas.

as per the above fella, i have gotten pretty crappy drops up until this point (dragon's mouth) aside from alot of major runes one being vigor. Only gold was a hammer from a mountain yeti.

Then again, most good stuff came from farming not questing so in time...
